Uzbekistan presents digital economy development strategy until 2030

On April 13, 2025, the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan presented an updated strategy for the development of the digital economy for the period up to 2030. According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the document reflects the key priorities of state policy in the field of digital transformation and is aimed at increasing the country's competitiveness in the context of global technological evolution.

The strategy covers a wide range of areas, including accelerated digitalization of priority sectors of the economy, development of national IT infrastructure, implementation of digital solutions in the public administration system, as well as improving the level of digital literacy of the population. The document pays special attention to creating conditions for the active participation of the private sector in digital development and stimulating innovation activity.

One of the key elements of the strategy is the launch of a national cloud platform that will allow centralized storage and processing of data from public and private organizations, ensuring the reliability, security and availability of digital services. In addition, a large-scale introduction of electronic government services is planned, including digital identity cards, electronic licenses and online business registration.

A separate place in the strategy is occupied by support for IT startups and the development of the high-tech ecosystem. Measures are envisaged to finance innovative projects, create technology parks, accelerators and educational programs aimed at training qualified specialists in the field of digital technologies.

According to forecasts, the implementation of the strategy will increase the share of the digital economy in Uzbekistan's gross domestic product to 15% by 2030. The authorities expect that the transition to a digital development model will ensure sustainable economic growth, increase management efficiency and create new opportunities for citizens and businesses.
