Experts of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Territorial Studies (IMTI) under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan analyzed changes in prices of the used car market in February 2025. According to their data, there is an acceleration in the cost reduction of both electric vehicles and foreign cars.
Lower prices for popular domestic cars
The average cost of popular Uzbek-made models declined in February. Among them:
- "Onyx ": moderately used cars fell in price by 3% (from $ 13,500 to $ 13,100), rarely used cars - by 0.1% (from $ 14,865 to $ 14,850).
- «Lacetti»: the most used models fell 0.3% (from $ 13,500 to $ 13,461).
- "Cobalt ": moderately used cars fell in price by 2.4% (from US $ 12,300 to US $ 12,000), rarely used cars — by 1.2% (from US $ 12,750 to US $ 12,600), and frequently used cars — by 0.5% (from US $ 11,600 to US $ 11,538).
- «Nexia»: average used cars fell in price by 1.9% (from $ 11,500 to $ 11,284), and widely used cars - by 0.9% (from $ 10,800 to $ 10,700).
- «Spark»: average-used models fell in price by 1% (from $ 10,500 to $ 10,400), while heavily used models fell by 0.9% (from $ 9,600 to $ 9,500).
- "Damas ": moderately used cars fell by 3.6% (from US $ 7,985 to US $ 7,000), rarely used cars - by 0.8% (from US $ 8,061 to US $ 8,000).
Price changes for luxury cars
- «Equinox»: the most used models fell by 1.1% (from $ 27,300 to $ 27,000), while the average used models rose by 3.2% (from $ 31,000 to $ 32,000).
- "Malibu ": the lower price limit decreased by 0.7% (from $ 31,907 to $ 31,682), while the average price remained virtually unchanged (from $ 29,000 to $ 29,070).
- «Tracker»: the most used variants fell in price by 1.1% (from $ 16,984 to $ 16,800), while prices for the least and most used models remained unchanged.
Lower prices for electric vehicles
BYD Electric vehicles Continue to Lose Value as They Become More Affordable:
- BYD E2: new models fell by 1.8% (from US $ 16,800 to US $ 16,500), used models — by 2.0% (from US $ 14,800 to US $ 14,500).
- BYD Han: new models fell in price by 0.5% (from $ 32,150 to $ 32,000), average used models - by 4.4% (from $ 36,500 to $ 34,900).
- BYD Song Plus DM-i Champion: new models fell by 1.7% (from US $ 29,000 to US $ 28,500), medium — used models — by 0.2% (from US $ 27,050 to US $ 27,000), and heavily used models-by 0.6% (from US $ 24,650 to US $ 24,500).
- BYD Song Plus EV Champion: new models fell 1.1% (from $ 28,000 to $ 27,700).
- BYD Yuan Up: new models fell by 1.4% (from $ 20,800 to $ 20,514).
Dynamics of prices for foreign cars
- Kia Sorento: the average price of used cars decreased by 1.3% (from US $ 40,000 to US $ 39,500), while the price of the most used models increased by 1.3% (from US $ 40,000 to US $ 39,500).
- Kia Sportage: the average price of used cars decreased by 2.3% (from $ 31,590 to $ 30,850), while the price of the most used models decreased by 4.6% (from $ 29,733 to $ 28,363).
- Kia K5: the average price of used cars decreased by 1.3% (from $ 27,549 to $ 27,200), while the price of heavily used models decreased by 1.9% (from $ 26,500 to $ 26,000).
Classification of vehicles
The cars were divided into groups based on mileage and year of manufacture:
- Little-used ones: released in 2024 with a mileage of up to 20,000 km or produced in 2025.
- Moderately used: released in 2024 with a mileage of 20,000 to 50,000 km or in 2022-2023 with a mileage of up to 40,000 km.
- Heavily used: issued in 2024 with a mileage of more than 50,000 km, in 2022-2023 with a mileage of more than 40,000 km, or in 2021 with any mileage.
Experts note that the decline in prices in the secondary market is associated with an increase in supply and a change in consumer preferences in favor of new models, especially electric vehicles.
