President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded the Legion of Honor, the highest award of the French Republic. The award ceremony was held on Wednesday, and the award was presented by French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the high award was awarded for a significant contribution to the development of Uzbek-French relations, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude for the honor and noted the successful development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.
During the current state visit to Paris, the Presidents signed a document on bringing relations to the level of strategic partnership.
The Order of the Legion of Honor was established in 1802. The award of the Order is the highest sign of distinction, honor and official recognition of special merits in France.
