Uzbekistan has risen by 65 positions in the mobile Internet speed rating

Within the framework of the World Mobile Congress "MWC Barcelona – 2025", the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov met with the President and CEO of Ookla Stephen Bay, Director of Strategy Chip Strange and Sales Director for North and Central Asia Viktor Tseng. Now we are on the 65th position in terms of mobile Internet speed.

Ookla is a leading international organization dedicated to measuring and analyzing Internet speed. Since its foundation in 2006, the company has provided users around the world with the ability to check their connection speed using the Speedtest service. Ookla also maintains the global Speedtest index, which provides monthly updates on mobile and wired Internet speeds in different countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Internet infrastructure and mechanisms for improving the quality of communication. Representatives of Ookla noted a significant improvement in the speed of mobile Internet in Uzbekistan.

According to the Speedtest global index, Uzbekistan ranked 133rd in the mobile Internet speed rating in 2020. However, by January 2025, the country had risen to 68th place, improving its position by 65 points.
