UNVI plans to convert Mercedes buses into electric buses in Uzbekistan

The Spanish company UNVI is considering launching a project to convert Mercedes buses into electric vehicles in Uzbekistan. This is reported by the Dunyo news agency.

Prospects for cooperation in the automotive industry and the development of environmentally friendly transport became a key topic of the meeting between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Spain Farrukh Tursunov and UNVI CEO Eloy Perez. During the negotiations, the parties discussed the joint production of various types of buses, including urban, intercity and tourist models, as well as minibuses based on the company's advanced technologies.

UNVI expressed particular interest in upgrading the previously decommissioned Mercedes-Benz Conecto buses located in Tashkent. As part of the project, it is planned to convert them into electric buses, which will reduce emissions and improve the environmental friendliness of public transport. To implement the initiative, it is planned to organize specialized training programs for Uzbek specialists, which will ensure the transfer of modern technological solutions.

In addition, the company proposed to implement the project at the production facilities of the SamAuto plant in Samarkand. This will allow us to take into account local conditions and increase the competitiveness of products in the Uzbek market.
