President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree according to which families in need will be able to get interest-free loans for the purchase of equipment for business.
The maximum amount of such a loan will be 50 BRV (up to 18.75 million soums), and its repayment period will be from six months to three years.
In addition, low-income families will be able to take advantage of interest-free loans of up to 200 BRV (up to 75 million soums) for creating irrigation systems, laying electricity networks and opening farms.
In addition, support is provided for businesses that hire unemployed people and those in need as home-based workers. For each such employee, the entrepreneur will be able to receive an interest-free loan in the amount of 10 BRV (3.75 million soums).
The provision of interest-free loans and other forms of support is aimed at creating new sources of income for low-income families. At the same time, inefficient subsidies will be eliminated as part of the reform, and duplicate support measures will be combined.
Until March 20, 2025, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan will establish an Office for evaluating and coordinating the effectiveness of subsidies, loans and grants.
