Global Automotive Brand Ranking 2025: Chinese brands continue to gain strength

In February 2025, the analytical agency Brand Finance presented an annual report on the value of automotive brands. Toyota again became the leader of the rating, leaving behind Mercedes and Tesla.

Toyota confidently takes first place with a score of b 64.7 billion dollars. The Japanese auto giant has strengthened its position thanks to the successful introduction of hybrid technologies and optimization of production, despite rising prices for raw materials.

Tesla faced difficulties: brand value decreased by 26%, and the company dropped to third place with the indicator 43 billion dollars. The reason was increased competition and price pressures, especially in the Chinese market.

Mercedes also lost 11% of the costby dropping to 53 billion dollars. The decline is attributed to difficulties in achieving financial goals and a slowdown in the Chinese market.

The main breakthrough was demonstrated by Ferrariby increasing the brand value by 36% — before $ 14.4 billion. The exclusive strategy, active participation in Formula 1 and premium collaborations allowed the Italian brand to significantly strengthen its position.

Chinese brands confidently declare themselves: the top 100 includes 24 companies from China. Among them, the leadership holds BYD, rapidly gaining popularity in the industry.
