DeepSeek goes to a new level: an open source chatbot will appear in Huawei, Honor, Oppo and Nubia smartphones

Leading smartphone manufacturers, including Huawei, Honor and Oppo, have already announced a collaboration with the developers of the popular DeepSeek chatbot. Nubia also joined them today, confirming plans to integrate innovative AI into their devices.

According to Nubia President Ni Fei, DeepSeek will not just be added to the user interface, but will become an integral part of the system. The company plans to "deeply implement" AI, preserving all 671 billion chatbot parameters to ensure maximum performance. Moreover, the Nubia Z70 Ultra model will be able to run DeepSeek directly on the device, presumably without an internet connection.

DeepSeek developers note that their AI is cheaper to train and more efficient to operate, while it demonstrates results that are superior to OpenAI's GPT-4o. One of the key advantages of the chatbot is its open source code, which makes it attractive for a wide range of users and developers.

Despite the growing popularity of DeepSeek in China, where it has already been implemented by such giants as Huawei, Great Wall and Tencent, some Korean corporations have decided to restrict access to the chatbot. This is due to concerns about possible leaks of confidential data.
