Sam Altman, head of OpenAI and creator of ChatGPT, announced a new technology based on artificial intelligence that can replace modern smartphones. Possible alternatives include next-generation neural interfaces, augmented reality projectors, and even wrist computers sewn under the skin.

Altman noted that the device that will replace smartphones is likely to be focused on voice interaction. Experts interviewed by Izvestia believe that the merger of smartphones and AI in the form of biochips can be the next major technological breakthrough.

"Apple, Google, Samsung and most Chinese manufacturers are already actively integrating neural network functions into their new devices. Chatbots will be able to replace regular queries in search engines and simplify interaction with gadgets. However, it is unlikely that we will be able to abandon touch screens and manual controls in the next decade, " said Nikita Boguslavsky, Editor-in—chief of T-Z.
