AvtoVAZ presented the concept of the new Lada T-134 crossover, which is an adaptation of the Niva-3 design project on the Lada Vesta platform. It is reported that the development of a new generation of Lada Niva was carried out in cooperation with Renault, and the CMF-B-LS platform from the Renault-Nissan alliance became the basis.
The name " T-134 "was chosen not by chance — it refers to the legendary Soviet developments: the T-34 tank and the Tu-134 passenger plane. According to representatives of the project, such associations should emphasize the key qualities of the car-simplicity, practicality and reliability. In addition, the symbolic name can play an important role in obtaining government support for the implementation of the model.
However, at the moment, no real research and development work (R & D) on the T-134 project has yet been carried out. The press service of AvtoVAZ did not disclose additional details, only confirming that we are talking about an urban crossover. At a recent event, a mock-up of the car was presented, but the technical characteristics and timing of possible mass production are not yet specified.
It remains to follow further updates to find out whether the Lada "T-134" will become a full-fledged production car or will remain only a concept.
