Uzbekistan increases food exports to CIS countries

On January 27, 2025, it became known that Uzbekistan significantly increased the volume of food exports to the CIS countries. The new trade contract signed with key partners in the region opens up additional opportunities for Uzbek producers and farmers, as well as contributes to improving trade ties with neighboring countries.

Uzbekistan has long been one of the leading exporters of fruits and vegetables in Central Asia, but with the development of new trade routes and improved product quality, the country plans to significantly expand its presence in the CIS markets. Under the new agreements, not only fresh products will be delivered, but also processed goods such as juices, canned goods and frozen vegetables.

It is noteworthy that the agreement includes the creation of new logistics routes that will provide faster and more efficient transportation of products. This is especially important for deliveries of goods that require rapid turnover. At the same time, the country will continue to work on modernizing infrastructure and improving conditions for small and medium-sized farmers, which, according to experts, will be an important factor for the long-term increase in export volumes.

Uzbekistan's Agriculture Minister, Bakhtiyar Makhmudov, said in a statement that the government will continue to work to improve export infrastructure and support local producers.
