Uzbekistan continues modernization of energy infrastructure

On January 26, 2025, a new project to modernize the energy infrastructure was announced in Uzbekistan. This project is aimed at improving the country's energy security, as well as reducing dependence on hydrocarbon energy sources. Within the framework of the initiative, several new renewable energy facilities will be built, as well as existing energy capacities will be upgraded.

The project also includes the installation of state-of-the-art technologies to improve the efficiency and safety of existing power plants. An important part of the program is the introduction of solar and wind power plants, which will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and improve the environmental situation in the country. It is expected that the share of renewable sources in the total energy balance of Uzbekistan will grow to 25% by 2030.

Uzbekistan's Energy Minister Nodirbek Islamov noted that this is a major step for the country towards sustainable development. Thanks to this project, Uzbekistan will not only be able to significantly improve its energy infrastructure, but also significantly reduce its environmental footprint.

Special attention will be paid to the modernization of the energy network in the regions, as well as improving the quality of service and connecting new consumers. The project is expected to reduce energy costs and improve the quality of life in remote and rural areas.
