Uzbekistan boosts agricultural exports to China

On January 26, 2025, Uzbekistan and China signed a strategic trade agreement in Tashkent, which opens up new opportunities for exporting Uzbek agricultural products to one of the world's largest markets.

According to the document, the parties will create new trade corridors and strengthen logistics infrastructure. This is expected to significantly increase the supply of fruits, vegetables, nuts, as well as meat and dairy products to China.

According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Halim Rakhimov, the country is already ready to expand the range of products supplied. He stressed that the Chinese market represents a huge potential for farmers and producers.

"Our goal is not only to enter new markets, but also to make exports stable, fast and efficient," Rakhimov said.

In addition, the parties agreed to step up investment in the agricultural sector. Thus, the agreement will help modernize agricultural production, improve its quality and competitiveness abroad.

It is important to note that the document includes support measures for small and medium-sized farmers. In particular, they will be able to receive financial assistance to expand their capacities and improve product standards. Experts are confident that this step will significantly strengthen economic ties between the two countries and will become a catalyst for sustainable growth in rural regions of Uzbekistan.
